A radio presenter for Bay Radio visited the Children’s Home in Gandia last week to present them with a cheque and also toys and clothes which had been raised at a special party at a restaurant in Pedreguer .

The money and gifts had been donated by people across the region .Some money had also been raised by the sale Of Bay Radio’s calendar .Bay Radio is Javea based and the small group who visited the Preventario were very impressed with the way in which the children who live there are cared for by the Sisters.

The children have all suffered a variety of traumas in their lives and the stability which the home gives them in life will provide a good platform for them to find their feet .This was the heartfelt sentiment of the group .

The mayor of Torrevieja , the police chief , councillors all turned out to view the destruction of about 15,000 counterfeit articles which had been confiscated from the town’s illegal sellers .

Most people have been approached by those who try to sell us what is blatently obvious not a designer watch , belt or handbag .Yet people still purchase these articles and there is a huge market for them .However it is not a legal passtime .

Within the 15000 articles there were around 300 articles which were genuine and these have been given to various charities to sell for fund raising .Most of the fake items were sunglasses , followed byCD’s and DVD’s , watches , bags  wallets ,belts and items of clothing were also in the pile which was crushed by the steamroller and then taken to the “Ecoparque “recycling facility .

The aim of the Torrevieja council is to eradicate these sellers and their goods from the promenades and streets of the town .

A series of fraudulent activities which has defrauded the London Stock Market to the tune of 450 million euros has been uncovered and six people have been arrested , one  in Elche , four  in Barcelona and another in Madrid .

It appears that a phoney company , forged documents and stock market operations are all involved in a bid to increase the value of the shares of the phoney company .These shares were then sold at a profit .This was achieved without deposits and it was all profit from the sale of the shares .

Trust in the whole of the financial market is in a turmoil and this comes when faith in the stock market is also at a low .

Britains Serious Crime Squad has been investigating this fraudulent company since 2005  at which point it was suspended from trading on the ” Alternative Investment Market “, a sub-market of the London Stock Exchange , where it is expected the majority of the fraudulent activity took place .

This news was disclosed by the Spanish newspaper ‘El Pais ” who said that the investigating teams refused to name the people involved in the fraud .
